Are Australia finally losing it?

Um, no they're not?

...Or maybe they are?

I don't know.

All I know is that Australia are not the team they used to be. It's either that or India is one hell of a good team and finally getting it up there with the Australians.

Yes, I thank Jason Krejza and Simon Katich for keeping us in the game while the others struggled. But maybe that was just another day. You have bad days and good days. You can't predict what's going to happen.

Gilchrist, Warne, McGrath, Martyn, Langer have all retired recently and it has seriously affected Australia. It's hit them right in the gut.

But I reckon Australia can still cope.

Hopefully.

They can still remain Number 1 if they put their minds to it.

Go Australia.

MILO in2CRICKET

I tried out for the MILO in2CRICKET team at school last Thursday.

I did great.

My batting was controlled and I did pull the occasional slog.

My fast bowling was at its absolute best. I got 2 wickets.

Friday was when the team was announced. I hurried over to the sheet of paper. I searched for my name and there it was; the second on the list. I was freaking going crazy. Well ok, not really. I was over-powered by a state of happiness that I just stood there staring at the piece of paper. I clenched my fist and whispered "Yes" to myself. Relief went through me. I had FINALLY made it into a cricket team. I now classify myself as an official cricket player which sounds so cool.

I assume that the sheet was the batting order. I'm an opener. Sweet. I always wanted to open an innings.

Also, during the try outs the teacher-coach pulled me and one of my fellow players aside and said that we could be wicketkeepers and take turns keeping during the matches...that is if we made it in...and we did. So yeah.

I'm a wicketkeeper. How awesome is that?

Pretty awesome. I love keeping.

The matches are 16 overs. So it's kinda like Twenty20. You gotta hit a lot of 6's and 4's...

and I love doing that ;)

A new book

I bought Adam Gilchrist's autobiography today.

So far, so good.

He has, apparently, a very interesting life especially when he was in the Australian cricket team :)

I loved the intro. He explained why he titled the book 'True Colours.'

Really great stuff.

Got the book as a bargain too - $34.95 use to be $50.00 (bought at Angus and Robertson bookstore)

I'm so glad.

Well, it's back to reading for me. I just typed this post randomly because I was bored, lol.

Lol, Gilly

Adam Gilchrist has slammed Sachin Tendulkar in his autobiography that will be going on sale next week. It is called 'True Colours: My Life.'

I so want that book.

Anyway, Adam has questioned Sachin's evidence in the Harbhajan-Symonds racism clash which happened earlier this year.

And of course, Harbhajan Singh got ticked off.

What a noob.

Singh even said that they didn't respect Gilly.

What kind of NOOB doesn't respect Gilly?!

He's like the most honest guy to have ever played cricket.

During his career, he walked every time he thought he was out.

And that's really hard to do.

Harbhajan should've just kept his mouth shut because we didn't respect him either.

*cough* he slapped his own team mate *cough*

Besides, Gilly could smash him for six any day.

It was his own point of view. Stand up for what you believe in, is what they always say.

Adam defended himself and said that he did not accuse Sachin of lying.

Wow.

A lot of stuff going on just because of a book.

I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Okay...

I haven't written anything for a while.

It's been a pretty hectic week soo...yeah.

I've got this swimming programme thingo for school.

...which kinda sucks.

I mean, I like swimming but not swimming up and down non-stop.

I'm not an olympian.

Neither are my classmates.

It's just too much.

But I suppose I can cope.

...

ANYWAY

It so happens that Australia are struggling against India.

Okay...

Matty Hayden went cheaply again. Maybe his age is starting to catch up with him.

Hope he finds his form soon.

Some dude with the name Amit Mishra took five wickets.

So uhh, well done whoever you are.

You're going good India.

Come on Australia, do something.

As if!

Virender Sehwag made a shocker of a comment.

He said that the Aussies cheated in the Sydney test last season.

WHAT?!

That is totally untrue.

Australia won fair and square.

He's just upset because his team didn't win.

Bad sportsmanship.

So sad.

Now, he just made the Aussies angry.

Boy, he's gonna get it.

The tension between these two sides are shockingly scary.

The ICC banned sledging, which I didn't like at first but now with Australia and India having a go at each other, it has kind of changed my mind. Not completely but almost.

Probably if that law hadn't been passed, players will be getting heaps of fines.

Sehwag should just stop whinging.

According to
Cricinfo, Ricky Ponting is insulted with what he said. (You can read about it here)

The catches were fine.

Anyway, the umpires or the third man have the last say so don't argue with their decisions.

They'll fine you for it if you don't be careful.

HE'S RETIRED! GET OVER IT!

Shane Warne is gone.

He's not playing international cricket anymore.

How hard is it to understand that?

For the people who have a brain, yes it's quite easy to understand.

But certain others lack the brain knowledge and reckon he can make a come-back.

NO.

Just because Australia is finding it hard without star spinners, doesn't mean a retired player can come back.

Our current spin bowlers are fine thank you.

I'm sure Australia can cope without Warnie.

Yes, everybody knows he's an absolute legend at the art of spinning but enough is enough.

Forget the past and move on.

You can't rely on him every time the Aussies need help because he's not there anymore.

Let the other guys work it out.

They've got talent; they've got skills so they can do it themselves.

Just let them learn and leave Shane in peace.

A great rivalry

Oh snap!

The test series between Australia and India are definitely striking up some tension.

Well, at least it's not as bad as before.

But it's still nerve racking.

India's got guts to stand up and look at the Aussies straight in the eye without being scared.

They've been fighting like savage dogs.

Nobody's won yet though.

The fight's still going and India's looking strong but Australia are making a come-back.

These two cricket teams are tough. As in REALLY tough. They will never back down from a challenge.

Over the years, no other teams could step up and make an impact but India have finally done that. They're making the Australians struggle which makes the game even more interesting.

Yes, Australia have lost its big superstars like McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist etc, and they have a new look side now. A more younger one. Unexperienced but still has a lot of talent. The older guys will have to guide them.

On the other side, India's got some old players. This may be holding them down a bit. Sourav Ganguly's retiring after the test series so maybe some of the senior players might follow letting the younger ones show the world what they've got.

Matches between these two great nations are never boring. Every second of every minute and every minute of every hour, there's always something happening to make the day even more entertaining.

I believe that this rivalry is good for the game of cricket.

Gilchrist in All-stars

Adam Gilchrist has been confirmed to play for the All-stars against Australia in a one-off Twenty20 match on November 14.

SWEET.

You can read about it, here, here, not here, but here and...here.

Anyways, there's nothing like an exciting T20 match.

...Boundaries, wickets, commentary from the players

= FUN

Cricket Australia also said that the All-stars might have other 'returning icon players.'

The Aussie Cricinfo mentioned Glenn McGrath and Darren Lehmann.

Great stuff.

This will definitely be interesting.

Oh and wait...isn't November 14 Adam Gilchrist's birthday as well?

Yes it is.

Niiccee.

The match couldn't be held on a better day.

Advance happy b'day Gilly.

White to replace McGain

Cameron White is going to travel to India on October 6 to replace injured spin bowler Bryce McGain.

Well, ok.

Cricket Australia can get anybody they want but the main thing is, that person has to help their team win.

We need all the help we can get.

India are a tough competitor.

The Aussies are finding it hard dealing with them but Michael Hussey and Stuart Clark did a brilliant effort making a 96-run stand for the last wicket.

We'll get through this in victory, no worries.

...I think.

McGain's out due to injury

Bryce McGain has been ruled out of his first test due to shoulder problems.

Now, I don't know much about this Bryce guy but according to other cricket sites, he's pretty good.

Well, ok then.

I'll see once he's on TV.

He's 36 and a spin bowler.

A spinner is what Australia need at the moment.

You know, to level out the bowling.

If that makes sense.

Hopefully, he gets better soon.

Trust the fielder's word

Ricky Ponting says that we should trust the fielder's word.

Hmm.

Trust, is something hard to get from your opposition when you're on the field.

Unless you're already friends with them.

There's a saying 'Trust no-one.'

I don't believe it but there's sometimes liars in the game of cricket.

Who lie just because they want to win.

People who have no respect.

BUT

I think this is a good thing.

If people start to believe in each other, it would bring out the good in everyone and bring peace to the game.

But the ICC might just stuff this up.

Well, whatever.

It'll be good if we stopped using technology just to prove if the person who took the catch was fibbing or not.

But just in case, make sure the catcher is a good person before trusting them.
