Nah, really. You gotta admit, you do have to feel sorry for them. Especially for this match since they've only won one game.
They had the victory in their grasp. They did. But then Rohit Sharma came along, smashed a few 6's and 4's in the final over and then BOOM! Deccan won. (Sorry to all the KKR fans out there.)
One HD's coverage made me laugh. I remember, quote - "One HD apologises for the technical difficulties we are now experiencing from South Africa." It was something like that. And another thing, after the game finished, they went back to our own Aussie hosts or whatever you wanna call 'em. The guy on the right was laughing his head off. Love it, love it. He even handed some tissues to the guy who went for KKR on the left! Anybody know their names? That certainly, for me, made up for the technical difficulties throughout the entire game.
Kolkata are still last on the leaderboard whilst Deccan are right up there at third.
Gaaaahhhh, why does Brett Lee have to play for the Kings XI?! Oh my Gawd. Here are some reasons why Brett Lee is such a good player -
He's a great bowler (and can bat a bit too)
All round nice guy
Great hair
Need I say more? He certainly did a good job for the Kings XI against the Deccan Chargers.
I didn't get to watch all of this since I got home from a party like at 11:00. Happy birthday Aunty! :)
I reached the last 10 overs of Punjab's innings though. A few wickets tumbled but then Binga came along, got singles, smashed a six and some more singles to guide the Kings home. Great work Bing, but please, never, ever do that again to the Deccan Chargers. I felt like screaming but I didn't because it was midnight and people might have gotten p!$$3d, lol. Or even worried.
And as I write this, I am struggling to find an article covering the story that is worthy enough to link...
That was Gilly's strike rate. One word. Wow. He made 44 off 19 balls against the Chennai Super Kings. And as I said in my last post - 37-years-old and he's still got it. He gave the Deccan Chargers the start they needed. Bravo Mr Gilly.
But it wasn't just Gilchrist who made DC win. It was Herschelle Gibbs - 69 off 56 balls. He was right there 'til the very end. Bravo Mr Gibbs.
And let's not forget the bowlers. Ojha, 2 overs, 2 wickets, 11 runs. Enough said. Bravo Mr Ojha. I don't know what Gilly was thinking when he didn't make Ojha bowl a few more. Oh well, it doesn't matter now since they won, lol.
Now, I don't know about you guys but apart from a weird commentator making sheep noises while saying DLF Maximum (yes, I remember this clearly), this was a great game for the Chargers.
DC are still leading the standings with 4/4 next to their names. They really have improved from last year.
That's what I've been thinking for the past year or so! I can't believe they've just noticed.
I mean, come on. Gilly blasted three fours in the first over while playing for his team Deccan Chargers against the Royal Challengers. And that's from my memory. I never forget anything that Gilly does. He made 71 off 45 balls. Now, you gotta admit, even at the age of 37, he's still got it. WHOO HOO!
At the moment, DC are at the top of the leader board. Change of captain, uniform and attitude. They can do it this year, I'm sure of it.
Ok, now back to the match, 22 April 2009. That was two days ago. Sorry about the late post, I've been busy. So yeah, I stayed up for the entire thing watching Gilly's team strive for victory. I always wake up at 12:00pm nowadays so that I have the energy to stay up and watch these matches. I'm devoted and proud of it and here's proof.
Wow, my voice sounds weird...
ANYWAY, yeah, see that? I took that with my mobile phone. I'm devoted.
Moving on. Gilly and Rohit were awesome. They were the stand out batsmen in that match. Actually, well done to the entire team! They're way different from last year, thank God.
If you're a fan of DC, good on you. :) They're next match is on 25 April, Saturday. Thankfully, it's 8:00pm AEST. I'll be watching.
Yes, I have decided to change the name of my blog.
It shall now be called
THE YOUNG CRICKETER
Ohh snappp.
My reason for this is because I have just recently found out that there are other cricket blogs out there called Cricket Etc. So yeah, to make it easier for you, I will change my URL.
Yeah, I'm feeling lazy. I should be outside playing, shouldn't I? Or I should be doing my homework, shouldn't I?
Look, look, look, this is my homework!
Science - read pages 161-167 and fill out classifying animals worksheet TECH - finish game flow chart Maths - complete integers code worksheet Italian - pages 44 and 45 plus about me assignment which has to be written in Italian Art - complete three sheets about Brett Whiteley and Donald Friend
Most of that is due on Monday or Tuesday next week.
Now can you see why I'm complaining? See, see, see? Is this the right amount of homework to be given to a 12-year-old? *Sigh.
They say it's good for me, so why am I complaining? I reckon it's something natural that just comes to kids.
Who knows?
So yeah, I'm just surfing the net, at the moment. Er, I typed in the word cricket into google and looky here, this is what came up -
Obviously, the second and third ones I have already clicked because they're in purple, LOL.
Don't you think it's kind of funny how Cricket Australia are the first one to come up. I mean, there are heaps of other countries out there that play cricket but Australia's site happens to be the one that comes up first. Meh. Ok, I know this post is quite very random but bear with me.
Now, I am going to type cricket into Youtube. And looky here again! Another funny thing comes up.
Did you notice that most of them were from England?
Long time no blog. Yeah, you already know why if you've read my past posts. I don't want to annoy you with my endless mentions of homew...
ANYWAY
I don't really know what's happening between Australia and South Africa because I don't have Foxtel (gee, thanks mum), so I have to rely on cricket sites.
"An unbroken 83-run partnership between Ashwell Prince and Hashim Amla helped South Africa take charge on day two of the third Test against Australia with the hosts reaching lunch in Cape Town at 1-148."
Now, that's not very good. Australia aren't going so well.
I remember myself sitting infront of the TV, staring with my eyes and mouth wide open. Can I just rephrase myself? THEY WERE ATTACKED. ATTACKED. KABLOOMSKIES.
Holy cracka. Some of the players got injuries but thankfully none of them died.
Why do people do this? What IS the world coming to? There's definitely some crazy and scary people out there...
It's been almost 2 weeks since my last post. 13 days to be exact.
I swear, it's the homework's fault. It's true. I still have to do 3 assignments over the weekend.
It's they're fault. It's homework, homework, homework, never-ending homework. One day, you're feeling happy - YES!! I FINISHED EVERYTHING! WHOOOO! TIME TO PLAY THE PS2!! - and then the next day - HOMEWORK?! HOMEWORK?! AGAIN?! FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! - yeah, it's like that.
But stuff that because I don't want to talk about homework anymore, so let's talk about cricket.
South Africa vs Australia
*thinks* Please don't lose. Please don't lose. Please don't lose. Oh wait. It says Australia are in control. Now, that's pure awesomeness.
Marcus North made a century on debut. Good on him. He's heading up north from now on. AHAHAHA, get it? Get it? He's heading north? He's moving forward, up... Ahhh, never mind. That was a terrible joke.
See, it's the homework that's getting to me. SAY NO TO HOMEWORK! It kills trees. (And sense of humour.)
*But I suppose I should do it since if I didn't I'd get after school detention...hmm...GAAHH, this is so retarded*
Mmm, yeah. School started, don't have that much time to blog anymore. (Too much homework, I feel like it's going to kill me!! Ok, not really but you get where I'm coming from.)
Anyway, let's start from the Allan Border Medal. Um, Simon Katich was voted the sexiest man of Aussie cricket. Uhh...
YES, moving on. The AB Medal voting or whatever they did was rigged. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MITCHELL JOHNSON. But noooooooooo, they had to give it to TWO PEOPLE, didn't they? Ponting and Clarke; captain and vice-captain. That's not very fair.
...
Ok, now we skip a few dates here...
10/02/09 - Australia vs New Zealand at Adelaide
Australia won. Good stuff.
I watched this one.
Yeah, David Hussey ran out Hadds. Nice work Huss. Not. Thank God David made 79 to shut people up. He's back in form!! I think. Hopefully. Yeah...
His bro, Mike Hussey made 75. It was the Husseys day 'twas.
Next match is at the Gabba on 13 Feb. Whooooo! Lol. :)
Australia lost on Australia Day. That's not very nice.
I only got to watch the last half hour of the game since I went to the city.
You know, while I was on the train with my mum on the way back home, I had a gut feeling: Australia are losing.
When we arrived home, I switched on the TV, turned to Channel 9, looked at the score. Yeah, my gut feeling was right. Australia were getting owned. OWNED.
AB de Villiers (82) and Hashim Amla (80) had a 144-run third-wicket partnership and got South Africa home so quick I hardly noticed. de Villiers got the man-of-the-match.
*Sigh* South Africa have claimed the series.
They're off to Perth for the 5th and final match so hopefully, Australia can atleast win there and still go off with pride.
Whoa, geez. I just realised the last time I posted something was 10 days ago. I’m getting lazy. Meh. Well, I’ve thought of something to make up for that. I’m gonna have a crack at commentating.
